Quartz countertops have become very popular because they are beautiful, durable, functional and maintenance free.  In fact, we are now doing about 80% quartz countertops and 20% natural stone such as granite, and quartzite.

Quartz popularity is mainly due to its tuning beautifully design veining, color consistency, strength and natural looks. New technology allows quartz, a man-made stone, to take the best of the two worlds: natural looks and color consistent and veining as well as making the slabs very dense, nonporous and nonabsorbent. This means quartz is pretty much carefree and it will not stain or harbor harmful bacteria. It is also harder than granite, less likely to chip or scratch.
